EI - upgrade to N1 instruments for Walter engines

Comp Air owners/builders with Walter turbine packages

Aerocomp Inc. received the following letter this week from Electronics International advising of a free upgrade that is available to customers with EI engine gauges and Walter engines. The letter reads:

June 26, 2001

Dear Turbo Prop Dealer:

We have enclosed some additional information regarding the connection of our R1-N1 instrument to the Walters tach generator. The tach generators that we have recently tested output a large amount of electronic noise that causes a jumpy reading in the R1-N1 instrument at low RPM (3%-6%). We have developed a modification to the instrument that will considerably reduce the noise effect. We will provide and install this modification free of charge. Your only cost would be shipping charges.

We have also upgraded the display size on all our turbo prop instruments except the E-1-AC. The display size upgrade includes the larger display, display board, front panel, LEDs and recalibration. Cost for this display change is $95.00. Instruments ordered after March 20, 2001 already contain the large display.
