EMPTY WEIGHT & GROSS WEIGHT
Again, weights vary widely depending on builders' options. If a builder is careful not to add unnecessary weight during the assembly of his airplane, empty weight on a 180 hp Comp Monster can be as low as 1300 lbs. Standard gross weight of the Comp Monster is 2050 lbs, with a variety of optional upgrades available if needed for higher weight operations. Optional reinforcements are available for up to 3770 lbs. for the Comp Air 7.

Comp Air 6 airplanes with 260 to 300 hp Lycomings and typical cloth upholstery usually weigh about 2200 lbs empty (+/- a couple hundred pounds, depending on the builder's attention to weight control during assembly). Standard max. gross takeoff weight of the CA6 is 3200 lbs., with optional 3600 lb. gross weight upgrades available. The Comp Air 7 has a standard gross weight of 3770 lbs., with higher gross weight upgrades available. Optional upgrades enable the Comp Air 8 and Comp Air 10 to be built with gross weights as high as 6000 lbs.

USEFUL LOAD
Typical useful loads of the Comp Air 4, CA6, and CA7 siblings vary from 700 to 1600 lbs., depending on optional gross weight upgrades and installed equipment. Typical useful loads of the Comp Air 8 and Comp Air 10 are 2500 lbs. and 2850 to 3000 lbs. respectively.
